Gay families: should homosexual couples get married or adopt children?

Homosexuality has been present along all our history. This controversial topic is one of the most argued themes in this century. Nowadays, there are organizations that protect the rights of gay people and also there are institutions that are against. But, what do people think about homosexual families?
The people, who are in favor, strongly think that gay people have the same rights than straight people to choose a person to spend a happy file with. Besides, gay people could be as good qualified as a straight couple to adopt children.  Furthermore, the capacity of loving children does not have anything to do with a sexual orientation.
In the other hand, there is the Catholic Church. According to this institution, the marriage between two men and two women is neither natural nor normal. Besides, it goes against God’s will. Apart from this, if homosexuals could adopt children, these kids wouldn’t be growing with a maternal or paternal figure, which is very complicated for the child’s mind and an integral growth. Finally, According to the last 13 surveys, homosexuals are not good examples for the future generations in terms of sexuality. They say that it would increase homosexuality.
In my opinion, I think that homosexual couples have the right to get married or adopt if that is what makes them happy, because everybody can choose to be happy in different ways. I do not believe that being homosexual could ever be a restriction for love.

Speaking about memory: To remember or not to remember?

For some people is quite difficult to remember, but sometimes you cannot let the memories pass through.

Thirty eight years ago, Chile went through a very bitter period.  On September 11th of 1973, Chile was attacked by the military forces and a lot of people died including the president, Salvador Allende Gossens, who committed suicide during the bombing to La Moneda Palace. After twenty years of dictatorship Chileans’ lives changed, and there were no longer human rights.

Due to this fact, on May 21st of 2007, the president Michelle Bachelet announced the creation of a museum that could show, remind and create conscience of those black years and the importance of human rights: The memory museum and human rights.

This museum is quite important for the history of our country and it will help the future generations to be part of the pain of the people who was affected the most, even though this is a national mourning until nowadays.

Obituary: Victor Jara

Victor Lidio Jara Martínez, Chilean musician, songwriter, a director of Chilean theater and a militant of the communist party, was tortured and murdered in the old Chilean Stadium by the repressive hands of the military government.

Visit to the memory museum

After the visit to the museum, I feel really upset about the period of the dictatorship.
Even though, I’ve always known the story, the fact of seeing, reading, listening to all those testimonies of families or people who were tortured, was extremely shocking and breathtaking.
If you ask me to choose something that happened among all those years... I couldn't do it. It is so difficult for me to choose just one or two facts because everything that happened is important, everything that happened needs to be remembered, needs to be felt and heard.
Just imagining Chilean people begging for life, it is just disgusting. I can’t believe how they could do this to us, to our families, to our people, to our history.
One of the most terrible things that caught my attention in the museum were the letters written by those kids, describing what happened that day and what happened with their parents, where did they take them. It’s really sad. Just imagine yourself at ten years old without a father...and you know he’s dead and you know that the militaries took him away and there was nothing to hide.

It is sad, and causes me anger to realize that I couldn’t do anything against those beasts that caused so much pain and terror in our country. I just can’t believe how they let that happen…. It’s stupid.

But as my mother always says… ‘’You can’t dispute history, you just analyze it and learn it’’

The last thing I’d like to write it’s a Victor Jara’s song called: ‘’Lo único que tengo’’

‘’…Y mis manos son lo único que tengo,
Y mis manos son mi amor y mi sustento…’’

*This part of the song, means just what I couldn’t do to avoid the pain…

New ending of ''The people next door''

I started to feel very scared sitting there all alone…it just didn’t feel right for me to be there. I slowly stood up from the chair thinking of going home, but suddenly something caught my attention; It was a estrange shade going out of one of the bedrooms. I felt frightened; my heart started to beat very fast and made me shudder and I just wanted to run but then all my body froze up and I just couldn’t move. After a few seconds, the shade started to get closer and closer until the sunlight touched its face and then the rest of its body. It was the most disgusting and terrible thing that I have ever seen in my entire life: it was a skinny human body but I knew from the first moment I saw it that wasn’t human. It had no hair, its eyes were like two black holes, its hands were long and very white and it had sort of a metal necklace that caught it from the neck, ankle and wrists, that didn’t let it move too much.
But what does it has to do with Budd and Shirlee? then I moved my head slowly and I saw a picture of a little boy. I looked the  pircture very carefully and then I looked at it. 'Oh my God...this just cant be...'
When I saw such aberration I just felt panic, I was so scared that my yelling were very weak and even I tried and tried to do it lauder nobody ever listened. So there I was, finally inside my neighbour house with a monster that was forcing to get rid of the necklaces until he did it. And when it was running to me I finally could move and I just started to run and I fell down and passed out.
-Lilly, Lilly!- I heard.
When I woke up I was on the couch and my husband was trying to wake me up with a big smile.
-What happened?, where is it? What did you do with it?- I asked almost crying and shouting.
-What are you saying?- Said Roy
-What am I saying?! There was a monster in the house next door! I saw it with my own eyes, I swear!
-Darling…what are you talking about?!, you have been asleep for almost two hours!
-What?- I was very confused. I knew I saw something evil
-Yes, you have been sleeping- Said Roy.
Then there was silence…I was in shock. I didn’t know if I was really sleeping or if it was true.
I looked Roy with a very confusing face he looked me back and suddenly we heard a creepy yelling coming from the house next door and a lot of noise. The monster was unchained.

A little of myself

Hello, my name is María Belén, but I don't really like it, so Belén will do just fine.
I'm 19 years old, I live in quilicura with my family: parents (Marcia and Claudio) and my middle brother (Ignacio). My oldest brother (Claudio jr.) got married in 2008, so he moved out with his wife. Ah! I also have a dog named Atón, he is a yellow labrador.
And, well... what can I say about myself? I am a music lover, I really love heavy metal, folklore and classic music, but music is not the only thing I like... I also like to watch horror movies or just go out with my friends. I ussualy go to have a drink or to eat something. And the last thing I really like has to do a lot with music. I LOOOOVE going to concerts or gigs!! I can really mix all the things I like: Listen to heavy metal, meet with my friends, have a drink and a cigarette.
So... that would be some basics things about me.
